Preventing Gangs in Virginia: A Model Framework

The Department of Education and the Governor's Office for Substance Abuse Prevention are conducting workshops on gang prevention using the risk and protective factors prevention framework. 30 workshops will be held in localities starting in December, 2005 and continuing throughout 2006.

All workshops last one day, are free of charge and include lunch and breaks, with check-in beginning at 8:00 a.m. and closing scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EXCEPTION: NoVA workshops in Ashburn on 9/20 and 9/21 check in at 7:00 a.m., start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.

Space is limited to 50 per day, so if you are interested in gang prevention, particularly in schools, please register early by going to www.dcjs.virginia.gov - Training and Events.

Or, click on one of the locations for more information, including directions to meeting locations, and a link to register directly. NOTE: if the registration no longer exists for a particular site and date, the workshop has reached its maximum.
